Protein, Antler Velvet and Bulked Up Muscles

Deer antler velvet is, hands down, one of the best naturally made food supplements, given its multitude of benefits and nutrients. There are many uncertainties and myths surrounding it, but those were nothing more but fallacies and outlandish claims. One thing is for sure however, it's bodybuilding effects won't come into fruition if you fail to pair it up with the right diet. If you're looking to build muscle, it is imperative that you eat food rich in protein - and in the right amount at that. Let's cut to the chase and find out what they are:

Bulked Up Muscles

Turkey

If you're looking to build muscle while taking in deer antler velvet, turkey should be part of your staple menu everyday. Why? A hundred grams of turkey contains 30 grams of protein, making it probably one of the richest sources of protein in this entry. Having over at least 400 grams of turkey will certainly satisfy your daily protein needs – 56 grams a day for men and 46 for women (more if you are building muscle). Turkey meat is also rich in iron, magnesium and vitamin B-6.

Chicken

If turkey is a rarity, then chicken should be a priority, especially if you're using deer antler velvet. Chicken contains a little less protein than turkey – about 25 grams per 100 grams. That said however, it is a pretty common commodity and a whole lot cheaper than turkey. Like turkey, it is also rich in vitamin B-6, Iron and Magnesium, albeit in lesser amounts. Chicken eggs are also a rich source of protein, as well as vitamin D.

Corn

For bodybuilders and antler velvet users, one of their staple sources of carbohydrates is also very rich in protein. Corn, whether yellow, white or violet, is rich in protein, about nine grams per 100 gram serving. So, if you're looking to build a lot of muscle, better munch on the sweet kernels or avail corn based cereals! Aside from being power packed with carbohydrates, it is also rich in magnesium, fiber, iron and vitamin B-6, a vitamin that prevents anemia and is used for cholesterol treatment.

Salmon

Probably the leanest source of protein in this entry and a perfect pair for deer antler velvet, cooked salmon contains 20 grams of fiber per 100 grams. That said however, it is always recommended to avoid ones tucked inside cans – always eat ones fresh from the fishing boats. Aside from protein, it contains a good amount of potassium, vitamin B6 and B12 and magnesium.

Venison

Deer antler velvet is not the only product availed from deer, but also its meat which is known as venison. Deer meat is not really mainstream as people prefer beef and lamb. Basically, venison is dense, leaner and has a gamey taste. It also contains less fat and 100% more protein per 100 grams than beef – venison has 30 grams of protein per 100 gram servings. It is also a healthier meat given its low fat and calorie content, so be sure to stock up on venison especially during the hunting season!

Aside from consuming good amounts of the above mentioned protein-rich sources, never abandon fruits, veggies, water and of course, the antler velvet supplements. You now have enough information to create a diet plan!
